Chabad of Temecula was founded in 1999 by Rabbi Yitzi Hurwitz and his wife Dina. Since then, it has grown from being a few individuals gathering together in a rabbi's home for services and meals to being the most prominent Jewish center in the Temecula Valley.
Our synagogue moved from the rabbi's home into a storefront across from the Promenade Mall in 2013 and shortly thereafter, Rabbi Yitzi was diagnosed with ALS and relocated to Los Angeles. While not here in person, he remains the executive rabbi and spirit behind the community.
In 2014, Rabbi Yonasan Abrams and his wife Natanya were appointed as new Rabbi and Rebbetzin for the community.
